Save the Date for the 2026 State of the Science Summit
The University of California, Davis is set to host the 2026 State of the Science Summit: Reducing Methane from Animal Agriculture on June 16-18, 2026, at the ARC Ballroom. Organized by the UC Davis CLEAR Center, the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, Spark Climate Solutions, and the California Department of Food and Agriculture, this three-day conference aims to address one of the most pressing environmental challenges: reducing methane emissions from livestock.
The summit will once again bring together researchers, policymakers, industry leaders, and cattle producers for meaningful dialogue. The discussions will center on innovative strategies to mitigate enteric methane emissions, including advances in feed additives, improved genetics, and other practical solutions.
The 2026 summit builds upon the momentum of previous gatherings, such as the 2025 event, which featured presentations and panel discussions with leading experts in methane mitigation and animal science. The goal is to identify opportunities for collaboration and research that can help the dairy and beef industries meet climate goals.
Registration for the 2026 summit will be available later in 2025.
For those unable to attend in person, a virtual option will also be available. More information and registration details will be provided in the coming weeks.
