Hanna Hines, B.S., moved to Davis from Ventura, California to obtain a Bachelor of Science degree at UC Davis in Sustainable Agriculture and Food Systems. Hanna studied animal science in community college, where she fell in love working hands-on with animals. She continued her studies at Davis with focus on animal production and soil science.

As an undergraduate student, Hanna worked as a research assistant in Dr. Frank Mitloehner’s lab for 2 years, where her love for sustainable animal management practices grew through obtaining a wide variety of experiences from dairy and beef projects. Hanna has also worked as a research assistant within soil biochemistry labs at UC Davis, working to quantify differences in soil health in response to regenerative practices such as livestock grazing. Hanna hopes to draw her two interests together and continue her studies on the sustainability of cattle on rangelands, examining potential environmental benefits.

During her free time, Hanna enjoys spending time with her dogs, paddle boarding on the lake, training in the gym, and horseback riding.
